Hi, welcome to Anita Blake Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Damian page.
Jean Claude Edit
I am trying to find out which book tells about Jean Claude's human wife who dies during childbirth. Not knowing this is driving me crazy. I would appreciate any help you could give. Thanks. -- Lupielupa 02:40, September 13, 2010 (UTC)
Google Rating Edit
I saw your msg about increasing your google rating and wanted to offer some help. Basically we look at it this way. The links on your main page tell Google and other search engines what your site has. The higher on the page, the more important those search engines think it is. Right now you're telling them that the most important things on Anita Blake wiki are: "Novels and Comic Series" "New Pages" "Recent Changes" "Statistics" and "Help" these aren't the terms people would be searching for if they wanted to get information on Anita Blake. So what we would suggest is moving that information to the bottom of the page. People will still find it, it just won't be the main thing the search sites see.
Some suggestions for what links to have high on the main page:
- Anita Blake
- Vampire Huntress
- Laurel K. Hamilton
- Jean Claude
Also, the section called "Anita Blake Categories" would probably be better if instead of saying "books" you linked out to each of the books separately with an image of the cover art maybe...check out the gallery Here to see a good example.
I hope this helps, please feel free to leave me a msg if you need more ideas! Sena 20:57, September 30, 2010 (UTC)
Hi, I'm Kate, and I work for Wikia.
I wanted to let you know about a "vampire project" I've been interested in. I would like to create a footer for major Vampire Wikis like True Blood, Buffy, Twilight, Vampire Diaries (and others) that all the vampire wikis can place at the bottom of the mainpage to create a sort of "vampire community." The footer would just have links to all the vampire wikis in one convenient location.
I've ran it by the admin on Vampires Wiki: http://vampires.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page and he seems interested in the idea. I'll be talking to admins for the above wikis and I would love it if you guys were up for it. I would just create a simple template for the footer and give you the code if you like (or I can place it on the page also). I got the idea from the Anime/Manga community who utilizes for all their wikis and it works really well for them. The superhero/comics wikis do it as well.
Let me know if you're interested or if you have any questions!

I was wondering who to talk to about changing the color of the links on the Antia Blake wiki, the dark red makes it hard to see the text of the link.
- Hey i was wondering if you guys needed help rebuilding the anita wiki page... I run an Anita Blake rp group and would love to help you all rebuild the pages and do the character pages if you all need help. Thanks so much ! -- Booklover (Talk) February 3, 2012
- Hi am trying to update Anita's lovers and change her brother josh stepbrother to a halfbrother but i keep making the aanita page go to the side could you help please.
I'm new to the wiki and i created a page for Bloody Bones Restaurant without knowing that another page regarding the same topic existed. I was wondering if you could fix that or tell me how to. I have also contacted the other admin regarding the same.
Hi, I'm currently re-reading Dead Ice (chapter 25), and figured I'd add something like this to the Vampire limitations & weaknesses, but the page seems to be protected:
Silver nitrate - Injecting silver nitrate to the bloodstream of a vampire is fatal, but for an older vampire the death won't be quick.
Fire seems to be missing from the list as well. Also, beheading and destroying heart doesn't really require silver, that just makes damage more efficient. I have no recollection whatsoever of the defanging thing in Anitaverse, but it's been a few years since I read most of the books so I suppose I may have just forgotten (although how exactly it's supposed to make vampires not immortal when they aren't immortal in the can't-be-killed sense to begin with is a mystery to me).
Theme issues Edit
Hi, I think you've forgotten to include .hiddenStructure styles to MediaWiki:Wikia.css. I'm new to wikia so it took me a while to decipher the template formatting, but if I'm reading Template:Character right I think you've meant it to hide all rows that don't have any content. I'd add the styling for that myself but modifying the theme requires admin privileges.
As an another option I also created a new wikia for experimentation purposes and took a shot at converting the Character and Infobox book templates to the new Infobox format that works better for mobile users, and I must say I'm not very impressed with how limited the modification options seem to be for the new version. Theming isn't my main area of expertice, but I managed to get them to look approximately the same as the current versions, even if some of the solutions are a bit cludge-y (at least the end result does indeed look better on mobile), but again I can't actually change the theme and without any theming whatsoever it looks a bit crappy, so I didn't copy them over yet.
You can find my experimental Character template here , and my experimental Book template here (didn't want to modify the default Infobox_book so I went with Infobox_novel instead, but that's a minor thing to change), and my attempts at styling them here (everything related to .pi-theme-anitablake-book and .pi-theme-anitablake-character). You can see the templates added to an actual test page with some limited amount of dummy data here . I made some minor changes to labels and default values, left out some fields that don't really make any sense in Anitaverse (as far as I can remember we aren't told any actual dates or years for any of the events in books, so birth date and death date fields aren't really useful, although I added BirthB as an optional field for marking the book in question), and removed some fields that just aren't usable with the new Infobox format (configurable image width), but unless I missed something both templates should be pretty much directly interchangeable with the current Template:Character and Template:Infobox book. The styling is pretty much just a quick-and-dirty attempt to copy the current look-and-feel.
